One foot in front of the other

Last week I wrote that I was envious of Kasmira's studded-navy pumps. My shoes today seem to make others envious. I do have to admit, these shoes are fabulous! Whenever I wear these, both men and women stop me to comment. The two most frequent comments are: 1.) I love your shoes! To which I reply "Thanks!" and if they ask I disclose brand (Nine West) and where I purchased (Endless). The second comment, How do you walk in those?, is generally met with sarcasm. My reply is always "One foot in front of the other."

Monday and Tuesday

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

I find it difficult to dress this time of year. One day it is 60 degrees outside and the next day it will be 30 degrees. The last two days I have embraced the short-lived warm temperatures, gave my tights a much deserved rest and bared my legs. By the end of the week, I am sure I will be digging out my scarf and gloves again.

National Wear Red Day

Today is National Wear Red Day. Wear Red Day is part of the Go Red for Women campaign designed to raise awareness of heart disease. Heart disease is the number one killer of American Women. I will also help to raise awareness and money by running in the local Heart Mini Marathon next month.
You may also wear red this weekend to save money on purchases at Macy's. Wear red to Macy's February 4th-8th to save 20%.

Shoe Envy

After seeing Kasmira's navy studded heels last week, I developed a case of shoe envy. They were too expensive for my pocketbook at Amazon, but I spotted these navy heels for a fraction of the price. They are navy blue with a bandana print and a black heel. I can't wait to pair them with jeans. I felt much better about all of the snow that we received when I arrived home to two new pairs of shoes on my porch. This is one of the pairs, you will have to wait for warmer weather to see the others.

Nothing Special

There is nothing special about this outfit, it was chosen more for comfort than for fashion. With exception to my shoe choice, I am glad that I wore slacks today. The weatherman was calling for a dusting to one inch of snow in my area (in addition to the 10+ inches we got last week). As we all know, weather predictions aren't always accurate. The snow started at around 3pm and 4 hours later there was approximately 6" at our house. Thankfully, I keep my boots in the car and changed shoes for the long drive home. Is it spring yet?

Black and blue

Perhaps there was foreshadowing involved when I chose this outfit this morning? Maybe I was destined to actually become black&blue, as in bruised. When I stepped onto my driveway this morning, I quickly realized that it was a solid sheet of ice. I don't know how I managed to not fall, there were some unattractive breakdancing moves involved.
I scored this shirt from Macy's when they were offering $.99 shipping on all clearance items. I love the cornflower blue color, it brings out the color in my eyes.

On the fence

This is the outfit that I wore to work on Friday. We are still battling many inches of snow here and I wanted to wear some color. I was on the fence about the shirt/jacket combination that morning, but I was running late and did not have time to pick out something new and change.
After viewing the picture, I am happy with the combination. This is one of my favorite jackets, it is washable suede. I found it on the clearance rack at Target for $9.98 two years ago. At that price who could resist? I also picked up another in baby blue.
